Dr. Francesca Velasco
Dr. Francesca Velasco graduated from Dental School at the University Santa Maria in Caracas, Venezuela in 2002.
She also completed a General Dentistry Residency at Louisiana State University (LSU) Health Science Center “Charity Hospital”, specializing in treating medical compromise patients; such as those suffering with Cancer and chronic diseases; also patients undergoing Chemotherapy, Radiation, Dialysis and Organ Transplants.
During her residency she acquired advance training with patients with motor and cognitive syndromes.
She finished her program as the Chief Resident for the General Dentistry Department at Charity Hospital New Orleans, LSU Health Science Center.
Dr. Velasco played an instrumental role in the recovery of the havoc of Katrina. She played a pivotal part in the rebuilding of the city fulfilling her leadership role within Charity Hospital Dental Division.
Dr. Velasco moved to the City Of New Orleans in 2002, after obtaining her Doctor in Dental Surgery Degree, an immediately initiated her advance training in orthodontics with Dr. Gene Dongieux. She purchased Dr. Dongieux's New Orleans (West Bank) Orthodontic practice in December 2007 and continued to work as his formal associate at his Metairie (East Bank) orthodontic office. Dr. Velasco worked providing general dentistry treatment and orthodontics for approximately 10 years and is now only dedicated to her real passion:Orthodontics.
Dr. Velasco is an Invisalign Certified Provider and continually attends Orthodontic continuing education courses locally and in other states such as Florida, California as well as international seminars.
Dr. Velasco is a member of the American Dental Association, Velasco is an Invisalign Certified Provider and continually Dental Association, New Orleans Dental Association, Hispanic Dental Association, International Association for Orthodontics, Academy of GP Orthodontics, Academy of Cosmetic Orthodontics and Colegio de Odontólogos de Venezuela.
